HOMEMADE SINCE ’74

Honey Hut Ice Cream opened its first location in Old Brooklyn area of Cleveland way back in 1974. Frank Page and his family–wife Marianne and kids Marcia, Brian, Bruce, Mark, and Sharon–decided to remodel an old shoe repair store at the end of their street. That building became the honey-sweetened ice cream shoppe that is now Honey Hut Ice Cream.

ABOUT FRANK PAGE

Because Frank was also an active-duty firefighter at Ladder 42 on Pearl Rd, he often took samples of his frozen desserts back to the firehouse (because, as we all know, firefighters are also excellent cooks!). Eventually, Frank developed recipes for several longtime favorites such as our Honey Pecän (Honey Hut’s take on a butter pecan, sweetened with honey), Orange Blossom (which is made with orange zest and orange blossom honey, and tastes like an orange creamsicle), and some of our other regular flavors.

HONEY HUT TODAY

Since then, Frank’s children and grandchildren have taken on the responsibility of shepherding his vision, now operating five locations throughout Northeast Ohio. In addition to managing locations in Brecksville, Brunswick, Parma, Solon, and our original location in Old Brooklyn they have also taken over the responsibility of making new ice cream flavors. Marcia especially focuses on developing our special flavors that use local and in-season ingredients, utilizing trending flavor profiles, and including housemade ingredients.
